Construction Cost Estimator

Position Duties

  • Consult with clients, vendors, internal teams, and construction managers to formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Prepare estimates used for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
  • Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of projects/services; track actual costs relative to bids as projects develop.
  • Prepare estimates for selecting vendors/subcontractors; set up cost monitoring and reporting procedures.
  • Establish and maintain the tendering process and conduct negotiations.
  • Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct special studies to develop standard-hour and cost data or to drive cost reduction.
  • Prepare cost/expenditure statements and required documentation at regular intervals throughout the project.

Position Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in the job offered.
